How does Tartiib block apps?

Tartiib uses Apple's Screen Time API to enforce blocking at the system level. When apps are blocked, iOS displays a shield screen, and the blocking cannot be easily bypassed without your permission.

Do I need to create an account?

Tartiib uses anonymous authentication, so you don't need to provide any personal information like email or phone number. Your account is identified by a secure random ID.

What is Good Deed First?

Good Deed First is a feature that keeps selected apps blocked until you complete a beneficial Islamic activity, such as reading Quran, reciting Adhkaar, or completing a quiz. It helps you replace bad habits with good ones.

Does Tartiib work offline?

Yes! Blocking rules and Quran text work offline. However, syncing across devices and accessing remote content like quizzes require an internet connection.

Can I sync across multiple devices?

Yes! Your sessions, rules, and settings automatically sync across all your Apple devices when signed in with the same account.

Which devices are supported?

Tartiib is available for iOS devices including iPhone and iPad. The blocking features require iOS 15 or later with Screen Time permissions.

Permission Troubleshooting

Screen Time Permission Issues

If Tartiib isn't blocking apps properly, follow these steps:

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Navigate to Screen Time
  3. Ensure Screen Time is enabled
  4. Scroll down and tap See All Apps & Websites
  5. Find Tartiib in the list
  6. Ensure Tartiib has the required permissions

Note: If you've disabled Screen Time entirely, Tartiib's blocking features won't work. You must keep Screen Time enabled.

Notification Permission

To receive session reminders and blocking notifications:

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Find and tap Tartiib
  4. Enable Allow Notifications
  5. Choose your preferred notification style

Apps Still Not Blocking?

If apps are still accessible despite active blocking rules:

  • Restart your device completely (power off and on)
  • Check if the rule's schedule matches the current time
  • Verify the apps are selected in your blocking rule
  • Ensure you haven't granted yourself a temporary bypass
  • Re-grant Screen Time permission in Tartiib settings

Account Deletion Instructions

You have full control over your data. You can delete your account at any time directly from the app.

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Open the Tartiib app
  2. Tap the Settings icon
  3. Scroll down to the Account section
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm your decision

⚠️ Important Information

  • • This action is permanent and cannot be reversed
  • • All your account data will be permanently removed from our servers
  • • Your focus sessions, rules, and completion history will be deleted
  • • Data stored locally on your device will remain until you uninstall the app
  • • If you have an active subscription, cancel it separately through App Store
